The Challenge
The site at 1801 W I-20 in Big Spring, TX, posed a unique challenge due to its storied past. Originally a Ramada Inn from the 1960s, it was converted into the Big Spring Correctional Center in 1989 before closing in 2016. The facility sat vacant until its demolition in 2023. Transforming this site into a modern Love’s Travel Stop required expertise in handling complex redevelopment projects and navigating regulatory landscapes.

The Results
Upon completion in June 2025, the new Love’s Travel Stop will feature 14,360 square feet of service space, including fuel stations, Dunkin’ Coffee shop, and an Arby’s restaurant. Strategically located along I-20, it will provide essential services to travelers and truckers, enhancing convenience and comfort in the Big Spring community. The project reinforces Anchor’s ability to deliver high-visibility, large-scale commercial projects on time and within budget, further solidifying their leadership in the construction industry.
